Hi Karl,
I am willing to make a Croquet image available that includes my MockTurtle package. I suspect that it will only be useful for a few months at most.
Based on an email from Brad Fuller on behalf of the Squeak WebTeam on Oct. 18, here is the information describing the image:
Image Name: MockTurtle1.0.image
Creator: Dave Faught
Description of Image: This image includes all standard Croquet updates as of around Oct. 31, 2006 as well as my publicly-contributed MockTurtle, CCPainter, and VRML packages. It is particularly useful for anyone that wants to try out the most recent MockTurtle changes without going through the entire update process from the base 1.0 SDK, which has gotten a little out of hand. I would NOT recommend it as a base for further standard updates. There may be a couple of other little changes here and there.
Image Base: Croquet 1.0 SDK Beta
Image Filename: MockTurtle1.0.image.gz
Image full URL: I would prefer that the WebTeam host this file, in fact I don't really have any easy way to make it available for downloading. I would prefer to upload it to the ftp site myself, if possible.

Hi Karl,
Unfortunately, it is a rather involved procedure to get an updated image for Croquet. They rarely use the update stream that the update button references. The procedure uses Monticello and is described on the Croquet wiki at http://croquet.doit.wisc.edu/wiki/tiki-index.php?page=How+do+I+keep+my+image...
If you can manage to get an updated image, then you will need to load my latest VRML package from the PublicContributions repository on CroquetSource, and then finally the MockTurtle package.
I did all this and still got into trouble with some obsolete classes....
Sorry that this is such an involved process right now, but I have heard fairly strong rumors that the core team is working on a new release, which would have all the updates included. I haven't heard any target dates, or any real confirmation that a new release is pending.
I recently saw someone on the Squeak list offering to host download space for different Squeak images. Maybe I should make my image available there, at least temporarily. I'll check into that, if you would like.
Yes, we host images on http://ftp.squeak.org/various_images/ If you would like to do that let me know. Karl

I have tried to get this to work but I can't sort out the dependences. Which packages do I need to install or update to get MTurtle to work ? First I updated Croquet with the update button. When I tried to load the MTurtle package it complained. I tried to load latest versions of the Croquet and Tweak packages and then the MTurtles loaded but when I dragged out the MTurtle thing from the objects tool I got into a endless walkback. Karl
