Hi webteam,
I'm looking for the links section on the left and I would propose to reorganize it. Reasons:
- too much links, therefore each is not visible enough (7 +/- 2 rule) - replicated links, project links for instance are the same as on first page (notable projects) and again on Projects page - Squeak Mailing Lists should go among Community links in menu - SqueakVM link is too specific to be on every page, I would put it on Projects page, or on Teams one.
So, my proposal for links would be:
- Squeak By Example (what's this? Maybe just Squeak Book?) - Squeak Wiki (not Swiki) - SqueakPeople - SqueakLand (what's this?) ------ - SqueakMap - SqueakSource (what is difference?) - Bug Reporting
As you see I also put them in two sections general/more developer one.
Those questions above are from typical visitor and newcomer perspective. If we find some good answers and adjust link names accordingly, it would be nice!

I sense Big Plans hiding here. Care to elaborate?

There are big plans of course but I didn't have them in mind while renaming above link. This rename is simply needed for someone who knows what Wiki is, but not what Swiki is. You know, newcomers, newbies,...
Ok, about Big Plans, I chatted with Brian Rice recently and he offered help to make a Swiki to Scribo converter. To be concrete we arranged to try that next weekend already. If this will be successful then yes, next think is Squeak Wiki migration to Scribo. Then we can quite simply achieve long standing goals:
- having nice SEO friendly Urls instead of just numbers - authorship of content by name and surname - and for sure many more
In any case the goal should be the same as for main website: migrating Wiki from aging to up-to-date technology.
And yes, this is not the end of Big Plans ... ;)
Best regards Janko
Guys, please let we continue discussion about that reorg, to close the task as soon as possible.

The main reason the major projects are here is because of advertising: squeak has some cool projects. I would say it's for the visitors that are new to squeak - to show that squeak has been used in a variety of commercial applications
- Squeak Mailing Lists should go among Community links in menu
sounds right.
- SqueakVM link is too specific to be on every page, I would put it on
Projects page, or on Teams one.
both would be appropriate.
So, my proposal for links would be:
- Squeak By Example (what's this? Maybe just Squeak Book?)
it is, maybe it goes in the education section. Oppss.. we don't have a Education section. Maybe we need one! IT's in the Documentation page, so why don't we remove it here?
- Squeak Wiki (not Swiki)
Good idea.
- SqueakPeople
- SqueakLand (what's this?)
An important link to Alan's and Kim's site for etoys
- SqueakMap
- SqueakSource (what is difference?)
They're two different sites.
- Bug Reporting
We could add a Applications section:
Etoys <--- we don't advertise Etoys enough Croquet Seaside ====================================
Proposal:
- Squeak Wiki - Squeak People ------ - Etoys (http://www.squeakland.org/) - Croquet - Seaside ------ - Source Tree (http://ftp.squeak.org/) - SqueakMap - SqueakSource - Bug Reporting
