Hi guys,
We set end of July for decision about technology for Squeak website. Ok, we are not so late yet :)
We started the choosing the technology back in April, having then two competing proposals, one Seaisde/Pier and other Aida/Scribo based.
Main goal was set to make a replica of current website and provide a better spamless Contact Us page. That way proposals shown its technical features and specially a community behind and its willingness for long-term maintenance of the website.
Seaside/Pier proposal was later withdrawn by author so now only Aida/Web proposal is still in game.
I'm opening now a discussion which should end in final decision and then upgrade of the site. Please be constructive, realistic and polite. I'm also stepping down temporary as team leader and discuss as proposer, to avoid "conflict of interest" as much as possible.
Best regards Janko webteam leader

At this point, since nobody else stepped up in the interim after your announcement and my announcement, I don't see any reason not to just go ahead with plans to migrate the server to AIDA.
As in, I'm willing to make that recommendation to the board on wednesday, and I suspect there'll be little or no opposition.
My personal preference, as stated before, was that since we are all about Squeak, we should utilize Squeak on the website to show it's unique capabilities. That said, that reduces our options considerably to Seaside, Smallwiki, Aida/Scribo, etc. However, my input is that if there is something better that we should consider, please propose it - although it would have to be far superior, in my mind, to overcome the fact that we are here to promote Squeak and Smalltalk.
As I stated in a semi-private email, I still consider Seaside/Pier a contender, and I still think it's the best choice.
I don't have a strong opinion either way. Smallwiki we have now have issues with accented chars and is hard to use with pictures so it would be nice to have a platform that improved those issues

Sorry guys, I have indeed been away for a while (funeral, work travel, and vacation).
While I like Pier and I liked what I saw from Lukas, I think that Janko's advances have proven to be a good replacement (not that Pier isn't, but Lukas hasn't had the time/energy/desire to build it out as Janko and team).
My main concern is that we have someone who is willing and able to keep the site up-to-date, regardless of the technology. If Aida/Scribo is what enthuses someone to do that so be it. If Pier makes someone want to fill that role, fine with me. At this point it seems to me that Janko has won out.
