Btw, if we don't intend to provide service via IPv6, then I think the AAAA record of mail.squeak.org should be removed. I've got no access to the DNS config, so someone else (Tobias?) has to do that. Hi Eliot, Chris Muller is probably best positioned to handle this, so I am replying on the box-admins list for follow up (I don't recall if you are subscribed to box-admins, if not we can move this to squeak-dev). The source.squeak.org image is of fairly recent vintage, so I expect that updating it through the trunk stream may be all that is required. That is something that one of us (me if I have some free time) can confirm off line without affecting the actual server. Whatever we do, I would want to be following Chris' guidance. Hi all, Someone put this line into /etc/nginx/sites-enabled/filessqueakorg.conf rewrite ^/trunk$ /5.2beta permanent; Please please please do not do this. First, "permanent" makes it near impossible to redirect trunk to something else than /5.2beta (because clients won't even bother requesting /trunk anymore), Second, "^/trunk$" will rewrite files.squeak.org/trunk but NOT files.squeak.org/trunk/ (which we link from squeak.org…). Third, /5.2beta is wrong and should be rc1 now. The correct way is this: cd /var/www/files.squeak.org rm -f trunk ln -s 5.2rc1 trunk And _not_ change the config. I fixed it. Thanks. -Tobias

As I'm no longer able to VNC into ss-andreas, I'm not able to do any diagnostics on the production server. I emailed about this a few weeks ago but got no responses. Remmina is suddenly refusing to connect, and I see this message in my terminal window: channel 3: open failed: administratively prohibited: open failed . I'm tunneling port 5901 to that on my localhost when I log in: ssh -L 5901:locahost:5901 chrismuller@andreas and then connecting Remmina to localhost:5901. I tried using ssh within the tunnel, I didn't see the "administrative message" but Remmina locked up. I never had this problem before, and not expert enough with SSH and haven't had time to google it. I assume you mean source.squeak.org. If so, I just restarted the image. There has been a problem with the server since Aug 4th which has broke the MC history function -- but no one reported it. Attempting to connect to the image gave me: channel 3: open failed: administratively prohibited: open failed Anyone know what this means? The sshd_config hasn't changed. A quick google search indicates a network resource issue (out of TCP handles) so I just now tried restarting the image in hopes that clears it up, but we may need a full reboot of the server as I am still getting the same message (above). Website and HTTP access seems to be working, but I still cannot connect to the image. FYI in case it turns out to be a recurring problem in the future. This user has registered on the vm-dev list, and then posted an apparently machine-generated message to the list. I have set the user to "moderated" on the list so that I can watch for continued activity. The user name "kjdshfkjsa" looks like fingers on a keyboard, but just in case the bots have gotten smart enough to register themselves on mailing lists, I thought I should mention it here.
