After reading through a bunch of logs and mails I came to the conclusion that the image behind source.squeak.org can't be accessed via RFB/VNC. Dave has done that only for squeaksource.com.
Anyway, what I would like to see is source.squeak.org running on
- an image outside the chroot environment (no more apache)
- a newer Squeak version (possibly the latest Trunk image) instead of the current pre-4.1 image
- CogVM.
Why? Because the Trunk project is getting larger and larger, and the current image is getting too slow to serve it. In the meanwhile both the VM and the image has become a lot faster. It takes 1.5 seconds to generate the list of packages, when it shouldn't take more than 100ms. It takes long seconds to create a diff (both email and .mcd) for packages (especially for Morphic), while it should be a fast operation.
Sounds good to me.
