OK, I think we are back to life again with squeak-dev. It seems the problem was with a couple of messages sent recently by NISHIHARA Satoshi goonsh@gmail.com that included an attachment which specified an encoding of iso-2022-jp which the digest part of mailman totally choked on and refused to continue. I deleted those messages from the file that was collecting the messages for the digest and I believe my test message after that went through.
