1. Regarding having my blessing for Casey becoming the list manager for the Squeak-dev mailing list: you have it.
2. Regarding receiving the list administrator rights and passwords: If the password Steve is using came from Cees I expect that means it has been the same for a very long time now and it's probably a very good time to change it. So I think to simplify matters (at least simplify them for Steve) I will take the responsibility for changing the list settings including setting a new password and getting it to Casey.
Casey: Do you have a public pgp/gpg key? I searched the MIT key server for your current email address and couldn't find one. Or is http://pgp.mit.edu:11371/pks/lookup?op=vindex&search=0xED25607DBDAF1986 you?
So as far as passing the baton from Steve to Casey, regarding the technical details, I will take care of it. Do you mind Steve if we do this sooner than 3 weeks from now if Casey is ready?
3. Regarding the SOB: I agree that the squeak-dev mailing list administrator is within the purview of the box-admins team. That said, I think it's worth at least notifying the SOB that a change has occurred. Again, I will take care of that.

These are valid concerns. Having them is responsible, Göran. I don't think I should take this role without some consensus, in spite of my own desire to do it.
I still give you the benefit of the doubt so to speak. We all make mistakes.
This is very kind of you.
So fine by me. Although I would like Ken to agree too.
Ken's blessing would give me a good deal of confidence, but the Board should make the decision. I'm offering to do it in the interim, and afterwards if asked.
regards, Göran
Thank you.

Nope. Just let me know when to stop. And thanks again, Ken.

Ken, you're an angel.
Casey: Do you have a public pgp/gpg key? I searched the MIT key server for your current email address and couldn't find one. Or is http://pgp.mit.edu:11371/pks/lookup?op=vindex&search=0xED25607DBDAF1986 you?
Not me. I haven't shared my key with many. I'm going to roll a new pair for this. Unfortunately, I'm in a call with my ISP trying to suss out why I can't connect. It's a new machine, and I need to be able to download some PGP software before I can take the baton.
So as far as passing the baton from Steve to Casey, regarding the technical details, I will take care of it. Do you mind Steve if we do this sooner than 3 weeks from now if Casey is ready?
Steve has done something wonderful for a wonderful community. Let's speed him on his way toward whatever he wants to do next. As soon as I can resolve the stupid technical issue with my ISP, I want this weight off of his shoulders.
Ken, thanks for coming out to help make the transition smooth.

It's probably the better idea to let small teams manage themselves in the longer term. For various reasons though, I felt compelled to seek a good deal of validation that I should do this before agreeing to serve in the long term.
I seem to be finding it.
Ken
Onward and Upward,
- Casey
P.S. Ken I'll let you know as soon as my Internet connection is working again.
