I published a new VM RPM:
http://etoys.laptop.org/rpms/squeak-vm-3.9-12olpc1.i386.rpm
This version might fix the accented key input problem.
A new Etoys version will follow tomorrow.

As promised, I made a new etoys rpm:
http://etoys.laptop.org/rpms/etoys-2.2.1710-1.noarch.rpm
The contents can be seen, as usual, at
where you also can get a new etoys-image-and-pr.zip file.
If you run under a new Sugar (post trial-3, joyride) builds you also need
http://etoys.laptop.org/rpms/Etoys-61.xo
Do NOT install the Etoys-61.xo bundle on a trial-3 build (<= 616)!
It should also show up in the "joyride" builds within an hour (build 51):
http://xs-dev.laptop.org/~cscott/olpc/streams/joyride/

I published another version:
http://etoys.laptop.org/rpms/etoys-2.2.1715-1.noarch.rpm http://etoys.laptop.org/rpms/Etoys-62.xo
This -62 xo bundle should work in both old an new Sugar versions. And you can update using yum again:
wget etoys.laptop.org/olpc-etoys.repo cp olpc-etoys.repo /etc/yum.repos.d/ yum upgrade etoys squeak-vm
The compiled .mo files are now installed (and included in the etoys- image-and-pr.zip as well) so we could start using a runtime translation.

Hi Bert,
Could you change the directory for MO files next time to locales/<LANGUAGE>/LC_MESSAGES/<DOMAIN>.mo ? For example, locales/de/LC_MESSAGES/etoys.mo
If you do, we can use standard gettext utilities to test it $ env LANG=de TEXTDOMAINDIR=locales/ gettext -d etoys "A rectangle" Ein Rechteck
Also Korakurider's MO importer assumes this place. I think the directory name "locale" could be any name, "mo" is fine.
I attached a shell script to make it.
Cheers, - Takashi

#!/bin/sh -x
src="po" dest="locales"
for filename in ${src}/etoys/*.po do poname=${filename##*/} locale=${poname%.po} mkdir -p ${dest}/${locale}/LC_MESSAGES msgfmt ${src}/etoys/${locale}.po -o ${dest}/${locale}/LC_MESSAGES/etoys.mo done
No problem, sure. I have that stuff in the Makefile. Gets a bit more complicated but I'll manage.

Thank you. I don't like such lack of symmetry. But this is the standard. - Takashi
