It bears mentioning that the "lasso" and the "grab patch" tools (found in the Graphics category of the Objects catalog) allow the user to designate areas on the screen to be "grabbed"; the result of such a grab is the creation of a new "sketch", just as if the area designated had just been painted.

I show the use of the paint like a transparency Sheet. Also with a "lazzo" and "grab pacht" tools an image is divided in 6 little parts. I thing a good approach for childrens is a challenge like this:

Making a jigsaw puzzle is hard with the tools currently in Squeak. To make two pieces join with a non straight edge line up involves multiple steps.
I guess I have to make a scissor handle ;-)

I'd erase the tile outlines using a transparent pen first and then make tiles using the lasso.
