Hi all,
see below an interesting discussion about presentations using Etoys and a wish from Walter Bender. I think it would be very nice to have that etoys bundle, it's something teachers are looking for! And once they have started using Etoys at all, I'm sure they will start scripting soon. What do you think?
Greetings, Rita

I still wish there was a launch-this-project-and-we'll-have-taken-care-of-steps-1–5-below-for-you Etoys bundle kicking around that we could just ship with the Journal.

Also, the Etoys QuickGuides (accessible from the left-most button in the toolbar) have an entire section on Books.

It isn't Power Point, but on the other hand, it isn't Power Point.

Hi, Did anyone very address the idea of a player for etoys rather than only having an install version. Is it hard to do? Is it not desirable? I think it would be welcome. Many of my students who do not have computers use the ones in our public library but they can not install software so our projects will not open. How many others are having similar experiences and how many are we turning away at the first threshold? Kathleen

I thought there were plans for a liveUSB version? You could use the LiveUSB version of Sugar (Sugar on a Stick) to launch Etoys in the interim.

Kathleen is referring to a javascript "player" in the browser. And yes that's very hard to do. No hope of having this soonish.
The USB version of Etoys is forthcoming, I prepared a beta release this week. This is not intended yet for wide-spread use, but feedback is welcome:
