At this time the Uruguayan technical Office (LATU) is distributing the version of Etoys which allows to play mp3 files. Some teachers believe an automatic update from the control panel could lose this valuable feature. They have asked if is there a manual procedure that will restore this capability just in case? To recompile the VM + plugin is the solution? ¿ May be a .sar file? With this type of questions one of these professors will give their first steps on Smalltalk soon.
Thanks in advance

Indeed. Which OS version is getting installed? Here are the versions that the updater should look for in 8.2 and 8.2.1:

To prevent updating from these locations you could remove the update_url line in the installed bundle.

Simplest would be to re-install the bundle with mpeg support.

No. You need two things: the MPEGPlugin, and the mime_type declaration in activity.info.

Great!
