Hello, Kim-nim, Sometimes I want to draw a graph by a pen trail. For example: Ellipse script1 Ellipse forward by 10 Ellipse turn by 10 Star script1 Star's penDown true Star's x increase by 10 Star's y <- Ellipse's y I will check the 'batch pen trails' for smooth line in this case. But the case that you wrote, I will uncheck it. And this switch is value is exclusive. I think this switch should be more accessable place, such as 'pen use' category of viewer as a slot. Hi, When I make a script like below, Object forward by 10 Object turn by 90 Object forward by 10 Object turn by 90 Object forward by 10 Object turn by 90 Object forward by 10 Object turn by 90 or using "repeat tile" Repeat 4 times Do Object forward by 10 Object turn by 90 then, click "!" button to run once. It doesn't make a square shape in the OLPC image. (of course with pen down) Actually, I used that procedural eToys codes in 3.8 image for teaching L-system incrementally. What's wrong with OLPC eToys?

Hi, Finally, I merged translation files into a po file each language. I have merged all po files on svn and the launchpad site at 2007-10-06 19:12(PST), and uploaded them to svn repository. But it might take a while to be updated at the launchpad site. https://translations.launchpad.net/etoys/first-deployment/ When the URL is ready, please use this place instead of old one. I couldn't remove old po files, so I added new "series". Maybe this is the right to way to do it. Cheers, - Takashi ---------- Just for a record. Hi, Here is a video demonstration of the iStoa project I am working on http://download.gna.org/istoa/videos/console.ogg Some ideas may be useful for people working on educative applications and computer assisted learning project. This video demonstrates the combined use of several Squeak/Smalltalk application: - a standalone Morphic application for the learner interactive exercises - a Magma database use as a back-end to save all the learner actions in the Morphic application - a Seaside web application (console) for the teacher to review the learner achievements and to replay his action - a custom image plugin to replay in the console the learner action It is not polished as it is for now a proof of concept but the ideas are there. Hi, Last question and I'll be quiet for a while :) Which mailing list is best to use for OLPC-Etoys stuff, the squeakland one or the etoys(a)laptop.org one? Yes, the question appears self-evident, but things are not always as they seem :) Is etoys(a)laptop.org the bleeding edge list and squeakland is for the older image? Tim

[Etoys] how do i load a project in newest olpc-etoys image?

Hi folks, In the newest OLPC-etoys image, the one with three clouds when you open etoys, I cannot figure out how to load a previously saved project. Did someone forget an "open" button somewhere, or am I being dense? Also, is there any way to save the image now? I'd like to default to "scale to fit" for example. Tim

Hi, I'm making a list of "squeak bumps" ... things that confuse or put off novice users at the beginning. First on the list ... 1) open olpc-etoys 2) click "previous project" 3) try to get back to the main menu ... you can't, AFAIK. You have to close etoys and reopen to do anything more.

[Etoys] 1615 breaks new project balloon

Hi, I did a load updates on etoys image (upto change set 1664). The "Make a New Project" balloon throws up a MNU error. Change 1615 broke this balloon when it deleted the "deleteWelcomeAndEnterNew" method. Is this an unintended side effect? .. Subbu

(This is resend of off-list message. Attachment was stripped) ----- Hi. I am writing a simple MO reader. First cut is attached: I don't care performance for now. I tested it with japanese MOs bundled with Ruby-gettext package, as I don't have gettext runtime to compile POs for EToys right now. I think we need to decide for some design issues to go forward: a) How to package MO from those highly fragmented POs: how many MOs will we have? what is assigned to textdomain ? I am not certain whether current packaging scheme for POs will be also good for MO/textdomain. In typical usage textdomain represents "application" and translation is provided for each app. Also note that this decision will affect design for good performance and resource usage. b) how to decide textdomain on #translated? c) Where will MO reside in runtime environment?
