I tested the camera morph with the new packages in build 340 on a b2 today. Got to 24 frames per second, awesome :)
The playback is not completely smooth however, it "jumps" every once in a while - anybody else seeing this?

That's great! It works on my B2 machine, too.
Is there any way to improve the performance, e.g. change the frame size? If I just want to use the camera as a luminous sensor, I don't need 320 x 240 size, but I prefer low resolution and high performance. I tried to change the size as 160 x 120 in "configuration video device panel", but the screen became brown and "no connected video device id: 0".

Hi Takashi,

It depends on the driver/webcam capabilities.
The cafe's drivers informs:
MinExtent: 48@32 MaxExtent: 640@480
(See the stdout/stderr messages produces by V4LPlugin)
BTW, I don't think we'll get more than 30fps as it's an "standard" rate for cheap video devices.
I tried to change the size as 160 x 120 in "configuration video device panel", but the screen became brown and "no connected video device id: 0".
I'll take a look.

Thank you for the feedback.

Yes, I also got 24 fps!

I see the same. I *guess* (I need to confirm it) the "flick" is caused by the frames skipped by the webcam's driver. If you run dmesg, you'll see a lot of messages (from the driver) telling this situation.
Is supposed the solution is to request the driver for another framerate. I tried with 20 and the driver choose 30; I tried with 15, and the driver complains but the "skipping-frames" messages still appears.
I need to investigate a little bit more.
