Closure support

Hello list: I've seen some messages talking about incorporating closure support into Squeak/Pharo. What does this mean? A closure is a block, right? And Squeak has already blocks... Thanks in advance!

Matrix with Objetcs

Hi! this is the first time I use Smalltalk. I created a class called Celd and I wanted to create a class called Matrix which will be a 2D-array of Celd or a Matrix if you prefere. Could someone help me with the code? Drag and dropped jpg (playing cards) - how to put in the "new morph" menu and create a PlayingCard class?

I'm runninng squeak 3.10.2 on windows XP. If I drag and drop a jpg onto Squeak, it creates a SketchMorph. Specficially, I'm adding a playing card image, well 52 of them, and I'd like to be able to add a card from the world menu / new morph menu. I'd also like to create a PlayingCard class, that uses the dropped jpg. At the moment I'm doing it the "hard way", after dropping the jpg, I'm digging through system dictionary, digging out the world objects, and "drilling down" to the dropped object. Any tips, info appreciated. Mike

make own sublcass from sketchmorph

(I tried to reply to my "Drag and dropped jpg (playing cards) - how to put in the "new morph" menu and create a PlayingCard class? " thread, but the forum software isn't letting me). After drag/ dropping a .jpg filename onto the squeak interface, and getting a SketchMorph, I tried using the tools menu / "Make Own Subclass". E.g. I name the subclass "Card2c". In a workspace I enter 'Card2c new openInWorld'. The new sketchmorph does appear, but it's graphic is the "paint palette" icon, instead of the original image. (the 2clubs playing card). How to implement parameters for an application

Hi, I use an application that used to have a shared pool for varaibles for global parameters. I removed them and implemented a special class for parameters but I don't feel happy with that. Is it a good practice to implement parameters as class side method on each relevant model class (instead of having a global container for parameters) ? If yes, I guess I need to use pragma or something else to get these parameters easily. Any comments welcome :) Thanks -- Cédrick

BlobMorph (and some other interesting demo morphs) is not in Squeak images anymore. The message http://lists.squeakfoundation.org/pipermail/squeak-dev/2007-October/121153.… says how to load them. (Note that they were removed to save space and they are no longer being maintained.) Lukas P.S.
