Traits at runtime

Quick question: Is it possible to manipulate Traits (add, remove) from an object at run time? Every example shows how to use a trait through class modification, but is it possible to do this at run time? (Including trait aliases) Thanks Erlis

Hi, Just a reminder: ESUG 2011 Innovation Technology Awards (http://esug.org/Conferences/2011/InnovationTechnologyAwards) We are proud to announce the 8th Innovation Technology Awards. Have you written innovative Smalltalk? The developers of any Smalltalk-based software can enter by submitting a 3-5min video of their software. Entrants demo their systems in a session at the end of Monday August 22nd 2011, after which the conference attendees vote. (A vote consists in providing a sorted list of 3 preferred pieces of software.) The top 3 teams with the most innovative software will receive, respectively, 500 Euros, 300 Euros and 200 Euros. The results are announced in the Awards ceremony that is held during the social event. Applicants should provide the following information on the conference registration server. Once you have registered your personal info, an "Awards" menu allows submitting your software. You can provide this information when you first register, or login again later and update your details. Info to provide: Name of the software Licence information (free, or shareware, or a commercial) Name of the Smalltalk dialect used Names, Affiliation and Country of developers URL for a video (3-5 min) showing a screencast / demo of the software URL for downloading the software or at least a runnable demo Deadline: 30th of july Any Smalltalker can apply (students, companies, ...). The presented piece of code/software should be written in Smalltalk or directly support Smalltalk (e.g. Smalltalk VM). All Smalltalk dialects are accepted. Need help about tile!!

I'm reading squeakbyexample and learning Smalltalk. I want to create a tile which return a SQRT resolution in a menu. I.E.: When a halo is opened if we click on a "viewer for a text object" witch contains a number similar to NumericValue tile . Which morphclass I need to use to create a Tile with SQRT ? Locking text morphs

Is there a way to lock a text morph so that it cannot be moved, edited, or deleted, but its text can be selected and copied to the clipboard? "Be locked" prevents text selection. Gary Dunn Open Slate Project http://openslate.org

Hi. Is there a way to get data from broken image. I suppose I should split my question in two: 1. Is there a way to get source code from broken image? 2. Is there a way to get objects from broken image and put it into another one?

Initials and settings

I have another three questions: 3. How do I change my initials in image? 4. Is there a way to copy all settings from an old image to a new one? By "all" I mean not only preferences, but also fonts and Monticello repositories. 5. What is the official way of installing packages in squeak? I've noticed there are many, like Squeaksource and Monticello, Squeakmap and package universe, Monticello configurations. I also understand that Monticello is a versioning system (like svn), Squeaksource is versioning system repository (like svn repository). If I understand it correctly Squeakmap and package universe are like linux distribution package repositories (like debian apt repositories). So what are Monticello configurations? Also it seems the analogy isn't as clear... Squeakmap etc. is kind of deprecated (?) (old versions there). People suggest to use Monticello configurations instead i suppose, but are they another way of managing packages? Please could you clarify this somehow?
