Hi,
months ago I used squeak a little bit under Linux x86. Now I got a new system with core2duo cpus. So I am on amd64 architecture now. But now I ca not use squeak anymore. Is there a amd64 squeak available - on the website I only get the one for i686.
Thanx Steffen

Oh! Thankx!! This one helped me too =)
I tried to build squeak from source on my AMD64 Core Duo processor but could't get too far, due to strange compiling errors..

Hi Steffen:
Did you try just installing the i686 version? I've used the plain Squeak VM on Solaris under an AMD dual-core Opteron processor with no problems. What's the actual error or symptoms that you get? I suspect your problem has more to do with the version of Linux and presence of necessary libraries, etc, than with the processor change.
Cheers,
Greg.

Hi Greg,
I am using Gentoo Linux, there is only the x86 version of squeak available. I was not able to compile it this way. The output was not clear to me, maybe it is a problem with the libs. But anyway. I am using now the amd64 version, build from the sources found here: http://squeakvm.org/squeak64/ It is working with no troubles right now.

Steffen,
Out of curiosity, what does $ uname -a
give you?
