Can't work out the linux install

I've download the VM package on the downloads page but I'm really confused about how to install it. I tried basically flattening out the folders but that didn't work. I've looked at the documentation but the bits about Linux don't really make sense. Can somebody please help me?

Hi, I'm new in squeak and its world. It is great although it has a lack of certain functionality, or at last i didn't find it :-). Is there a way to "attach" a TODO list remainder to a class or a method? I want to have the todo list for a class integrated into the browser. Sqeak install from source under linux problem

Hi, I am trying to install a Squeak-3.8.-6665-i686-pc-linux-gnu-3.77.tar under my Slackware-based distro Vector Linux 5.1. I followed the README file, compiled the package withour problem it seemed. However, I have not been able to find the corresponding squeak files and folders in /usr/local or /lib (as I remember some should be there too) so I can not run the program. Unfortunately I have not been able to find hint about the solution. The directory I ran the install was the /home directory. Key Combination to Switch to the Next/Previous Window?

Hi, Is there a key combination to switch to the next/previous window like ⌘` (command-`) and ⇧⌘` (command-shift-`) in Mac OS X? I often find myself moving windows out of the way manually with the mouse just to get the window below it. -- Daniel

Brilliant, thanks Kim! My two-year-old and I whiled away some time yesterday with a lovely rocket launcher Etoy from NASA. Launching rockets is not something we can do safely in the physical world until he is a little older :) For what it is worth, it might be helpful to the clueless, like me, to bring all the Etoys, both community ones and VPRI ones, under a single Etoys link on the home page. Where should I comment on squeakvm.org?

Where should I put a comment about squeakvm.org (specifically the Win32 compiliation directions)? On Windows 2000, the place to add the GNU tools to your PATH environment variable is System Properties, Advanced tab, Environment Variables... (middle of the window) button. After you change it, reboot. On Windows XP, the place is System Properties, Advanced tab, Environment Variables... (bottom left of the window). You don't have to reboot on XP to have it take effect, but you do need to open a new cmd.exe window to have the new setting work for that new process. -Kyle H

squeak on sharp zaurus

Hi, I'm a bit of a newbie to linux, but I got my hands on a sharp zaurus pda, running OpenZaurus... linux 2.6 with Opie. I'd really like to run Squeak on this thing, but I have never done anything like cross-compiling before. I was just wondering if someone could point me in the right direction. Thanks! --David
