Morphs dropped from 3.10?

Hello,   I just tried 3.10beta.7143 and it seems that it dropped some morphs which were present in the 3.9 ObjectsTool:   BlobMorph ClipboardMorph FishEyeMorph MovingEyeMorph MPEGMoviePlayerMorph RulerMorph WatchMorph   What is the reason behind this? Will the final image contain them?   Best regards, Jan

Designing a calender

Hello This morning I woke up with a decision to create a calender in squeak for the fun of it. I though I would run my design thoughts throw with you guys, so you can tell me what a stupid way of doing x or y is. How I visually see this is that a calender has years which in turn hold month, which in turn holds days and days have events. I'm not interested in adding times to the days, times will be added to the event text. One aria where I'm confused is if an instance of class Calender holds instances of class Year; how many years instances dose the calender hold? Are years created as needed or should say one hundred years, into the future be created when the calender is created? What I'm thinking is that an instance of class year should be created when a date is added to that year. Am I looking at this all the wrong way? As I see it repeat events need to be accessed by all instances of class year. So It would seem that a class variable is the best place to store these. How do instance methods access class variables? Sorry for being vague as usual, I'm a vague and confused person. Services Browser

What is the Services Browser? Under WorldMenuProvider, I see something that says "NextWindow" Can I use this tool to bind the NextWindow action to say cmd-`? (with the intention of having the squeak env, behave in a fashion similar to a OSX cocoa app w/ multiple windows.) And... Is there a document that introduces one to the various browsers in squeak? Is there a documentation path for these browsers in the squeak env? (other than reading the source code) And, in the spirit of "teach a man to fish". If you (my new expert friends) were to open the Open menu one day and find a new component in there that you had never seen before, how would you proceed to learn about it. Hi Bill -- The game works fine in my image. 1) The first thing I would look at is when the debugger comes up I would select the second line from the top of the list that is shown in the top pane of the debugger. When you do that the debugger opens and will have the offending message highlighted. I would select the object that is getting that message and cmd-i ( or ctl-i ) which brings up an inspector which will show you if you really have aSBECell or not. If you are not getting the right object there is probably something in the code that you did not copy correctly. Did you type the instructions in ? 2) same steps as one. By the way the code for the examples can be downloaded from squeaksource.com Steve

This is a mixed bag. These are the questions that I would ask an informed friend. They might be obvious, but they are not obvious to me (yet, I hope). ----------------------------- As I read code in Squeak, I discover method names that I do not know. How do you find these methods if you don't know the type of the receiver? For example, self subclassResponsibility. ----------------------------- In the floor method from Number, truncation _ self truncated. What does the underscore mean? ----------------------------- I want to apply smalltalk to fibonacci numbers. I add this method to Integer, fib: (self = 0) ifTrue: (^0) (self = 1) ifTrue: (^1) ^ (self - 1 fib) + (self - 2 fib). Next, I would like to memoize this method, (because of the enormous performance gains). I do not see how to memo-ize things in smalltalk. Can somebody help me see the necessary shift in thinking? and Would a smalltalker even take this approach? ----------------------------- I am still waiting for things to >click< w/rt smalltalk.
