Fading a PNG

I have a PNG image that I'd like to display fading out. I tried the BitBlt method suggested by "Team RAR" to fade the image, but I can't make it work. The image loads properly from a file and displays fine as an ImageMorph. I have been able to use a TransformationMorph to rotate and scale it, and PNG transparency is working properly. Is the "Team RAR" BitBlt method the only way, or are there alternatives? I'm running a 3.9 image, and my display depth is set to 32 bits. Thanks, Steve

Migrating to new image....

Hey, all: Is there a how-to on moving code between images? I like Damien's dev-images so I like to update when he does, but is there an easy way to move all my stuff between an old image and a new one? And what about desktop? If I keep stuff in workspaces and Transcripts and so on, can I move those? (I mean, I can, if I do it manually but...) ===Blake===

squeakland plugin test fails

Hi, The test page in http://www.squeakland.org/plugin/launch.html throws up a MessageNotUnderstood error in Deutsche(?): Leider ist ein Fehler ..... I am using squeakland_3.8-3u_all.deb on Konqueror 3.5.3. The test frame refers to "http://www.squeakland.org/projects/test.001.pr" which doesn't exist any more. Is this triggering the error? I could fix my copy of SqueakPlugin.image by running squeakland from command line, setting the language to English and saving the image. I was then able to see projects in Etoys. Regards .. Subbu, K. Publishing a project on a Squeak project repository

Hi all, We're using Squeak 3.10 alpha#7068 because is the one which works properly with the Small-land dock bar (previous 3.9 and 3.10 versions have problems keeping the dock bar in all projects even with the "show main docking bar option enabled). But I have a problem. When I try to publish a project on a Squeak Repository (say the Squeakland-BSS or Squeakland SuperSwiki) I get this message: ConnectionTimeOut: send data timeout; data not send. It happens almost immediately after choosing the Squeak repository of project. How can I publish projects with this image (or something with the same look and feel) Cheers, Offray

[Help needed] - problem when loading packages (.mcz)

Hi all... I just formated my PC and now with squeak, I have problem when l load packages. The step "snapshotting methods" is very long ! (long minutes), whereas before this was quick. there are screen captures and the debug stack at the folowing adress: http://cdrick.seasidehosting.st Do you have an idea where it may come from ? I'm lost... it seems to me it's a file acces problem but... Thanks for all Cédrick

File system access in Squeak

Hi Can anyone suggest a good package for file system access? Someone suggested Rio but I am not sure how to install it as it does not show up in the Package loader... I want to be able to work with the files on a ftp server and am not sure what to use for this. If possible an example script to connect to a ftp server and work with the files therein would be really helpful. That has really helped me out :-) I knew that Squeak was a dynamic system but I hadn't really understood the implications, e.g. being able to change things on the fly in this way. Select FileList icon in Tools flap via halo. Select the wrench icon for "debug it". You must have a Inspector , with this tool you could austounding things. Scroll the left panel for you select "target", in the right one should have FileList or FileList2 . For change , you must type wich type you wish and the on the menu do "acept" (or command s or alt s) Presto, now you Squeak is under your control and could suit to your taste. For follow what Squeak do for some, select as example : FileList2 prototypicalToolWindow openInWorld. In the Workspace window and do debug it. Always what you press the Into button, you could follow inner methods. Selecting only prototypicalToolWindow and command n or alt n you could see all senders of this message Selecting only prototypicalToolWindow and command m or alt m you could see all implementors of this message Smalltalk / Squeak is like Codigo da Vinci, you need follow the right clues :=) Edgar>>
