I think that many of us have had experiences similar to this. It is ironic but true, the more you "know" about computers and languages, the harder it is to grok Smalltalk the first time. But it's certainly worth the effort :)

So ... all you need to do is hack the Compiler :)
And it takes two new methods and four very minor overrides in some subclasses.
