I was using the wrong port for smtp.gmail.com. Once I fixed that it seems to work.
I do get an error when I include you in the To: field of all things: -- '553-5.1.3 The recipient address < christoph.thiede@student.hpi.uni-potsdam.de> 553-5.1.3 is not a valid RFC-5321 address. Learn more at 553 5.1.3 https://support.google.com/mail/answer/6596 jx24-20020a17090b46d800b00213202d77d9sm9433051pjb.43 - gsmtp' -- The extra space after the comma in the two field is added to the beginning of < christoph.thiede@student.hpi.uni-potsdam.de> which the protocol doesn't seem to like. So I can only send email from the Squeak Inbox to one To: address at a time.
Regards Pete

Hi Pete,
connection closed appears in a small number of cases for me when the internet connection is unstable. Could you please try again? If this does not help, another explanation would be that your message contains some very special characters. If you see the debugger another time, could you please share the SqueakDebug.log file in your image folder here so I can try to reproduce the bug?
Best, Christoph

Found MailSender which allowed me to reset the info. But now I get a “connection closed while waiting for data” error.
