I downloaded the Mac OS version of Squeak and when I started the image I got the message that "/private/.../.change" file was set to read only. Since the .changes file needs to be read/write allowed but I'm not able to change it even though I'm the Administrator. Any hints on how I can correct this problem. I am running on macOS Big Sur Version 11.6, iMac (24-inch, M1, 2021) Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,René

This is most probably macOS's App-translocation. Please (1) remove the .app, (2) unpack the zip again, (3) IMPORTANT move the app away, eg, Desktop, Applications folder, anywhere, but move it. (4) Then start the app.
Best regards -Tobias

I will have to admit it is rather frustrating. Again, any and all help you can provide will be greatly appreciated. Thanks,René ======================= Hi René

I understand.
However, look at the path that squeak is complaining about. It means that macOS decided to move the .app into a read-only location we have _no control_ about.
Were have you moved the Squeak5.3-19459-64bit.app before starting it?
