refactor button in OmniBrowser

"Squeak by Example" section 6.2 , in the section on "Refactoring" discusses the "R" button that should appear on the far right end of the button bar. I'm using squeak-dev which uses OmniBrowser by default, but that button isn't there. What do I need to do to add it? The footnote at the bottom of that page indicates that it should be there by default. --- Mark Volkmann

learning Morphic

My GUI programming background is mainly Java Swing. I'm trying to get a feel for programming with Morphic. Browsing through the list of classes, I'm not seeing lots of basic things I'd expect. Maybe Morphic is dramatically different. I'm trying to find basic things like text fields, checkboxes, radio buttons, push buttons, lists, tables, trees, etc. I've searched for Morphic tutorials. Most seem to focus on custom graphics rather than these basic GUI widgets. Where should I start? --- Mark Volkmann

My changes file is around 11 MB and contains code dating 2001). Also, some classes had their parent changed as follows - AnObsoleteErMenuComponent subclass: #ErWelcomeComponent instanceVariableNames: 'menu' classVariableNames: '' poolDictionaries: '' (ErMenuComponent was the parent for ErWelcomeComponent). However, I have set right all these problems and I am able to work with other parts of the application just fine. It is only when I try saving a new user that the problem happens.

Squeak won't respond

Hello! I had worked on the Seaside tutorial here - http://www.swa.hpi.uni-potsdam.de/seaside/tutorial and I was able to create users and login and see tasks. After that, I started working on a project of my own but I am using the session I created in the tutorial. Now, when I go back to the tutorial and register any user, Squeak just hangs. Alt-. and cmd-. do nothing and all the windows are frozen. Once this happens, if I kill Squeak and restart, nothing - just a black screen. Can anyone look into his crystal ball and say what I am missing? :-) I think these classes may be the reason. TIA.

Unwind error during termination

Is there any way to recover from an "Unwind error during termination"? Every now end then I seem to end up with this and my only solution has been to discard the image and load my code into a clean one. I'm sure I would need to provide more information, but I'm not sure what it is! Thanks, Rob

Is it possible to use OmniBrowser without using a mouse? For example, is there a keystroke that moves the focus to the different panes within the brower? --- Mark Volkmann

Hello, I've created a Morph (an indirect subclass of Morph) and I want it to have an extra halo for bringing up a special menu (or dialog, or etc.). How can I do this? Thanks, Aidan
