I finally solved this way: WAKom class>default | ma | ma := ModuleAssembly core. ma documentRoot: FileDirectory default fullName. ma serveFiles. ma addModule: (self entryPoint: WADispatcher default). ^ma rootModule . How to do validation such as for money (with a currency class) in WAEditDialog subclasses?

I have a WAEditDialog subclass with a field called amount, which I am using a currency class (which understands #amount: and #amount) to represent. What I do is to implement a field renderer like: renderAmountOn: html html textInputWithValue: model amount callback: [:v | model amount amount: v]. However, how do I validate input which is non-digit? The #amount: implementation assumes a number, and will throw some error. Similar for WAHtmlRenderer>>dateInputWithValue:callback:. BTW, does no one use #dateInputOn:of:? Seems odd that its missing... Thanks. -- Regards HweeBoon MotionObj

WAEditDialog validation error message hidden when nested in WASimpleNavigation (#kalseyTabs) using IE6

I hit an IE (at least v6) CSS bug. Anyone interested can try the changeset and click call followed by save, it should show a validation error. The workaround is to add a line to #kalseyTabs so that it becomes =========================== WAStandardStyles>>kalseyTabs ...... .kalsey .navigation-content { background : #fff; border : 1px solid #ccc; border-top : none; clear : both; margin : 0px; padding : 15px; line-height: 1.1; /* IE6 CSS workaround - http://www.dracos.co.uk/web/css/ie6floatbug/ */ } .... ========================== The bug and workaround is described in http://www.dracos.co.uk/web/css/ie6floatbug/ (thanks to Matthew Somerville?). Seaside tutorial in Bern, November 17

Hi all, I'm going to be in Bern speaking at the university there in mid-November. Given enough interest, I've been discussing offering a full day Seaside tutorial while I'm there, jointly with Lukas Renggli and Adrian Lienhard from netstyle.ch. It would be held at netstyle's offices in Bern, probably from about 10am to 6pm on November 17th. If you think you'd be interested in attending, please email me soon and let me know. Make sure to mention what your experience level with Seaside is, and what topics (if any) you'd be especially interested in covering, so that we can gear the content of the tutorial towards the attendees. The tutorial fee would be 300 EUR per person, to a maximum of 10 people. If we get enough interest to go forward, we'll let you know next week. Also, if you'd like to attend something like this but can't make it to Bern, feel free to drop me a note, and maybe we can organize something elsewhere. Cheers, Avi

thoughts on semi-real-time application

First, I must sadly admit that development on application, that is system for tracking machines' breakdowns and their maintainance times is suspended and ceased. That client is very big and their IT had developed strong addiction to Microsoft/.NET. I suspect they consider running "something" on their Windows servers which is not windows service and does not talk to Oracle as unacceptable. Also running dedicated server is likely against their rules. Nevertheless I'm pondering about an application for making appointments. Scenario is simple: you go to website of company or other institution and will be presented with calendar. You can pre-reserve on some time/date. You can only see how many outstanding requests are there for given time. From the company' side someone can pick your request and make an appointment. As this is all about time, it needs refresh from browser quite often. To save traffic/load I am thinking about some periodic scripted XMLHttpRequest for polling with question if redraw is necessary. Also, I guess I must ensure that there will be no open forms waiting for input too long and solve problems such as possibility someone can outrun you while entering data into a form. Storing SmallInteger in GOODS

I noticed a problem when storing and retrieving SmallInteger(s) in GOODS. Run the following: ===== db := KKDatabase onHost: 'localhost' port: 6100. db root at: #xx put: -3. db flushAll. Profile link statistics

I was trying out the profile link in the toolbar and noticed that if the profiler says 10msec/100msec, the actual time taken for the page to load is about sub-second/3-4 secs.
