I would hope so seeing as that's where majority of development is happening right now and cincom focus will first be on better integration and only then on seaside itself if I understand correctly. Albatross: How should I access the model?

Hello, in the Albatross paper [1] there is a section about "Model access" (p 15): > There is unlimited access to the > model available by the test component accessor ATestCase>>testComponent. I'd like to do just that, e.g. accessing the Pier kernel after I have added / removed a page. The method testComponent seems to have migrated to AComponentWrapper, looking at its senders does not help. All the example tests seem to deal only with user interactions (browser click: etc). A progress bar for seaside

i need a progress bar for keeping the user notified about the state of an operation, the best what i've read for that until now is this : http://onsmalltalk.com/programming/smalltalk/polling-for-long-running-proce… but when i tested i get an infinite recursion (i think). to test it, install the attached mcz on a test image, add an entry point with SULibrary and open a Transcript. i added a lot of output to understand what's happening. maybe more experienced developers (Ramon Leon?) could fix it or tell what's wrong? (note the callback of the periodical is never evaluated)

Evaluator not working anymore

Different Profiles for development and production

Hi all, I am quite new to Squeak and Seaside development, but I am truly fascinated about the whole framework and the great work by Lucas. After 10 years Java development this is really mind-augmentating ;) I want to use Seaside and Pier in Production and I wonder how the "normal" development/deployment cycle is. Currently, I am doing only changes locally and copy the whole image onto the server while keeping WACom running. The disadvantage is, that I have to change some settings after redeploying the image onto the server. Additionally, it would be easier to just export the settings and content from seaside and pier. Is there a way to do this? Cheers, Michael P.S.: I couldn't find out how to change the default password of pier - any hints?

Albatross: how do I find the current URL?

No Monticello Configuration Support for Gemstone???

Hello, Really love the gemstone version of Monticello, works great, but I just found out you are not supporting Monticello Configurations. I assume that is a temporary situation? When will that be available? Any chance we can have that by tomorrow? (hint hint) Ron Teitelbaum

use of updateUrl:

Hi, I solved my initial url appendix with a bad hack (remembering the appendix in initialRequest: and append it later by overwriting actionUrlForKey: in my session class). And now I discovered the next little thing which depends on the handling of urls. My intention is to make my site bookmarkable. Therefor I like to utilize updateUrl: in the components and extraPath: when using anchors. updateUrl: should control what the browser displays in the url bar and extraPath: should give a hint where the anchor leads to. So from my view there is no necessity that using updateUrl: changes the base url for everything in this component. But updateUrl: is used in the redirect as well as in WARender>>buildResponse. That means if I do MyComponent>>updateUrl: aUrl super updateUrl: aUrl. aUrl addToPath: '/foo' then /mycomponent/foo is shown in the browser. good! But doing MyComponent>>renderContentOn: html html anchor callback: [ self something ]; extraPath: '/bar' the anchors become /mycomponent/foo/bar which is not desired in my case. Is the updateUrl: in buildResponse of any concrete use or won't it do any harm to remove it? thanks, Norbert

path appendix to initial url once more

Hi, I know now why the appendix to my URLs are missing. Lukas advised to try something like this: initialRequest: aRequest super initialRequest: aRequest. self session redirect But the redirect is the one which removes the appendix from the URL. actionUrlForKey: in WASession resolves to WAEntryPoint>>baseUrl. As long as there isn't any redirect it works quite good. In my case it is the check for cookies which does the redirect. Removing the check makes it work. So for me there are two options how to solve the problem: - there is an appropriate way of checking cookies without redirecting. But I fear this has to be a javascript one instead, right? - I'm not too familiar with how seaside works exactly. The WASession>>actionUrlForKey: is the method which is called in both ways (cookie check and session redirect). Would it be feasible to take the appendix there from the current- Request and append it to url? thanks in advance, Norbert
