debugging javascript within browsers is hard when the browser show the response on a single line

Hi, I wonder if other people suffer from the same problem when debugging javascript: Seaside's response is viewed by browsers as a string without line-breaks. Normally this isn't a problem as the browser "pretty-prints" the output when inspecting the html. However when debugging javascript, either inline or within a file-library the script debugger (I'm currently using Mac Safari) shows the output as a single line - which makes it impossible to interpret any javascript generated errors ("syntax error: line 1"!!) or to set meaningful breakpoints. I've discovered that calling #withInternetLineEndings on the file-library string results in browsers interpreting the line-endings as expected. Locally when I'm debugging I've created a class derived from WAHtmlDocument, which overrides #nextPutAll: WAHtmlDocumentWithInternetLineEndings>>#nextPutAll: aString super nextPutAll: aString withInternetLineEndings and I modify WAFileLibrary>>#handle: modifying the WAResponse>>#document: to: document: ((self documentForFile: fileName) withInternetLineEndings) Is there a better solution? Are there easier workarounds, browser settings etc. I created an issue for this problem: http://code.google.com/p/seaside/issues/detail?id=675 Though if there are easy workaround that I've missed, I'd be delighted to close the issue. Zinc as static file server

Hi - Following these instructions you can make Comanche serve static files from a local directory while also handling Seaside requests: http://samadhiweb.com/blog/2011.07.10.seaside.comanche.staticfiles.html Is there a way to do the same with Zinc and the ZnStaticFileServerDelegate ? Thanks Paul

Jquery submit loads page

Maybe I'm just too tired to get it straight. I have html form with: [ html submitButton onClick: (html jQuery ajax serializeForm ); with: 'foo' ] and if I click the button I get the ajax request and afterwards the page is loaded. What could I've forgotten? thanks, Norbert

Hi, I am using Pharo Smalltalk -1.4image with latest seaside version loaded. I have 1)loaded the JQDeploymentLibrary,JQUiDeploymentLibrary in my project. 2)Used the sample code for the "Tab Widget " as explained in the "javascript/jquery-ui" example in seaside. Instead of showing the Tab widget, i am seeing some bullet text,link. Any possible solution for this ? Help !!!!! How do I add an event to my grid? There's a list here: http://www.trirand.com/jqgridwiki/doku.php?id=wiki:events. There doesn't seem to be an easy way to associate a callback with a cell / row like WATableReport. RS

Pharo/Seaside as a back-end for a social media app

Hi all, I plan to build a social media app, initially targeted to iOS clients. I was wondering if pharo 1.4 and seaside 3.07/3.1 are enough for a back-end where at least these requirements are expected: + Rest communication (I can use Seaside-REST) + Media transmission, ie sending/retrieving Photos and Videos (What Seaside modules I can use for this?) + Database communication (I can use GlorpDBX) + Ouath2 authentification (??, I understand that CouldforkSSO is a client not a server) + Scalability, where I can easily grow from hundreds to thousands of clients. Do you think Pharo could meet that requirements or I must use something less cool :-(, such as ruby on rails. Thanks in advance. I'll really appreciate your comments. JQuery ui autocomplete with multiple parameters

Hi there, I'm struggling with JQuery ui autocomplete. I've a form with a couple of input fields: "name" and "address". Actually autocomplete is running on the "address" field (I've a list of addresses and names of my town), so far so good. Now, I'm gonna try to have an autocompletion of the "address" and "name" coupled together, e.g. user fills the "name" field (e.g. John Smith) and when he is starting to fill the "address" field, the returning values from autocomplete should be the list of addresses of John Smith.
