Hi Bruno, Something that may interest you. Annick Fron has created an XSLT Smalltalk code generator that translates XHTML into a Seaside #renderContentOn: method. This would most probably work with Dreamweaver output. Rails and Seaside

In hist post at http://www.braithwaite-lee.com/weblog/2006/01/finding-signal-to-noise-ratio…, Reg Braithwaite has this to say about why Rails is chosen over Seaside. I am curious to hear others thoughts... Personally, I would choose Seaside over Rails any day of the week, and twice on Sunday. How do the other users of Seaside feel? To me the decision about choosing Seaside over Rails is not *just* about the framework itself, it's also about the environment in which I am building my application. If Ruby came anywhere near Smalltalk's environment, I might be more willing to lean toward Ruby. Scriptaculous usage questions

Hi, I have a little problem I would ideally like to solve without writing a single line of Javascript, but I wonder whether that's possible at the moment. I have a form that needs to do two things: - When a field changes, post an identifier, the field name, and the value (using XMLHttpRequest). - For any given form, an update loop that, via XMLHttpRequest, post an identifier and reads back field name and value. This request may not return immediately. Together, with some "magic" inside the appserver, this would result in keeping two copies of the same form synchronized. The server blocks the request from the update loop, and continues that request as soon as the other copy of the form posts a change. The identifier identifies a 'synchronization session', e.g. two people looking at the same data. (background: we want a callcenter agent to help a customer with filling in forms). Now, this is easy to whip up with HV2 and plain Javascript using any run-of-the-mill XMLHttpRequest wrapper. I just wonder how this would be done cleanly inside Seaside, using Scriptaculous, and avoiding handcoded Javascript larding my Smalltalk code :-). (one issue I already encountered is that Seaside sessions serialize requests - so the blocking update poll request blocks out anything else in that session, meaning that this thing needs to run in its own session, probably). Hi Alain, Your fix works so thanks for that. However, I see that my html text was not "rendered" as you would expect to see in a browser. All I saw was the same html text that I wanted to be rendered. Smalltalk float to currency how to ?

Hi all, I have Float in form: 12.0 123.3453 etc and want to format it to two-digits-after-dot. Searched through classes but found nothing suitable except n := 12.6. String streamContents: [:s| n absPrintOn: s base: 10 digitCount: n asInteger asString size + 2. ] while it works fine for any float like 12.3245 it does not add zero to float like 12.6 :-( I would like to see 12.60 Is there simple way to do it ? like fprintf in C/Perl world ? I'm just right now downloading seaside image. Now what i'm interested in wher do i find suitable web hosting company fo Seaside?? Are there any seaside bigger projects?? Can i use Firebird sql engine with Seaside? Thx, Patrick

Hi, It works... but I have a strange behavior with IE6. When I submit the form, the file is uploaded, but the browser display a DNS error. Works well with firefox! I use seaside for VW... Any idea?
