Hi, Given it looks like the isolate method is never going to added back to the current or future versions of Seaside as it's been an open bug issue for the last 5 years, how in general would go about replicating it's behaviour ? I think it's a shame as I think this sort of functionality made Seaside standout from the crowd as a web framework. Thanks

Return document attachment from AJAX callback

Is it possible to return a document attachment as a response of an ajax call? I'm currently returning a file as part of a regular action callback associated with an anchor, but as most of the app is AJAX driven, it would be convenient to not only return such document, but to do return the document and/or a script to keep the UI in sync. I'm currently returning the document by doing the following as part of the callback: downloadFile self requestContext respond: [:response | response doNotCache; attachmentWithFileName: ...; contentType: ..., binary; nextPutAll: byteArray; respond ] And I'd like to do something like. html anchor jsUrl; onClick: (html jQuery ajax callback: [self downloadFile]; script: [:s | ... ]); with: 'Download file'. Inlining styles in document (also: reporting)

Hi, I need to export an HTML document from Seaside, which is done easily by creating a new canvas builder and rendering a full document with it. What I'm rendering in the exported document is very similar to what's rendered on screen without a few "interactive" elements. The issue I face is that I should include a minimum set of CSS rules in the .html file to produce an output that looks as close as possible to the one displayed on screen. I've done this manually before to send styled HTML formatted mails, but now I'd like to integrate something like bootstrap.css. Is there a way to do it easily? Did anybody create something to ease this? Also: It would be useful if this HTML output could be converted to PDF and RTF/DOC/DOCX. For PDF I found wkhtml2pdf, but I couldn't find a command line based converter for other formats. Regards! -- Esteban A. Maringolo

Does html select list: need to be a collection of symbols?

Hi Everyone, For some reason I have it in my head that a Seaside html select list (a drop down list) needs to be a collection of symbols. Is this true? html select list: anOrderedCollectionOfSymbols; selected: aSymbol; .... Ordinarily I would just test this but at the moment that isn't very easy. Thanks in advance for any answers. default exception handler WAWalkbackErrorHandler only present in development, not runtime

Hi in Seaside (3.2.0 - JohanBrichau.85 1 in the Visualworks 8.3 port) class WAEnvironment installs WAWalkbackErrorHandler as default exceptionHandler in method #configureApplicationExceptionHandlingDefaults called from initialize. But WAWalkbackErrorHandler is included in package Seaside-Development, so if you build runtimes without Seaside development packages, this fails because WAWalkbackErrorHandler is not present in such runtime images. Shouldn't rather WAHtmlErrorHandler be used as default exception handler which is in the same package as WAEnvironment? And then maybe replaced by WAWalkbackErrorHandler if you additionally load development? Any thoughts? Thomas

Hi all, I would like to do the apparently common problem in XSLT of wrapping all the <h2> stuff in a <section> tag. For example (I omit closing tags here for simplicity) ... <h2> <p> <p> <h3> <p> <stuff> <h2> .. ... <more stuff> ... <h2> .. ... <MOAR stuff> ... becomes... <section <h2> <p> <p> <h3> <p> <stuff> </section> <section> <h2> .. ... <more stuff> ... </section> <section> <h2> .. ... <MOAR stuff> ... </section> does anybody have any links to some good (purely smalltalk) techniques ? thanks in advance.

Anybody using Parasol with Chrome headless ?

Hi there, Is anybody here using Parasol (selenium-webdriver testing) together with Chrome headless? Since the last stable update of Chrome (v69), the headless testing is broken on both my Mac and Travis-CI (Ubuntu) boxes. With UI, everything works fine. cheers Johan

Connecting elements via Ajax

I'd like to have a range slider and text input that work together to pick a date. Does this look like a good approach? Any other recommendations? Specifically, I was wondering if `callback:value:` was guaranteed to be processed before `script:`. I suspected it might be since `script:`'s comment says it's the "main callback".
