[ANN] Rickshaw.js charting library for Seaside

I just uploaded to SmalltalkHub an initial wrapper for the Rickshaw.js charting library (http://code.shutterstock.com/rickshaw/). As usual, you can load it with the following expression: Gofer it smalltalkhubUser: 'emaringolo' project: 'rickshaw'; package: 'ConfigurationOfRickshaw'; load. (Smalltalk at: #ConfigurationOfRickshaw) project development load: 'All' This will load all the packages, including a Seaside component installed at '/rickshaw' containing various examples. It is an initial version and my first package uploaded to SmalltalkHub, so bugs and and mistakes are expected :) Questions are welcome too. Regards, Esteban A. Maringolo

Trying to find memory holding with seaside

Hi guys, For some reason, even after shutting down all my server adaptors, unregister apps, kill all sessions etc... I still cannot get rid of some instances that end up with a very very large graph. I am with Seaside 3.0.10 and Pharo 2.0. WAApplication allInstances select: [:each | (each preferenceAt: #rootClass) = DpWebRootTask] -> 0. (DpWebRootTask is my root class that I register) WASession allSubInstances size -> 0. WAServerAdaptor allSubInstances size -> 0. And the list continues. I did all the cleanings and resets I am aware of. Still, I have a referecne to an instance of DpWebRootTask (my root class) and an instance of the the class the #go of DpWebRootTask does a #call: I have spent 2 hours following strong pointers and nothing... REST in Seaside 3 in Pharo 3

Hi all! I'm running Pharo3 on a Mac. Loaded Seaside 3.1 from the config provided. I then manually loaded REST for seaside, from the 3.1 repo. I can't seem to get this working. If I register my handler it keeps saying 'not found' After some fiddling I got it to come back with: MessageNotUnderstood: RBArgumentNode>>key After some forum reading, I see that that method is wrong. Is there a way to easily get REST working with Seaside3.1 in Pharo3? Do you store non-callbacks in the callback registry?

Hi We are looking at Issue 614 [1] again (amongst other things due to GemStone/S related performance issues). There is mention about applications currently storing non-callbacks in the callback registry. If you do that please respond so that we can avoid breaking your code. Appending rows in-between from AJAX

Is there a way I can pass an generated html to the after() jQuery function? I have the following html: <table> <tr id="id1">...</tr> <tr id="id2">...</tr> <tr id="id3">...</tr> <tr id="id4">...</tr> </table> I want that, via a click handler, load another table row after row with id #id2 or #id3. If in the following command line works: $("#id2").after('<tr>...</tr>'); But in Seaside I would like to do something like: tag onClick: ( (html jQuery: #id2) after: (html jQuery load html: [:xhr | xhr tableRow: [ "..."] ]) ) This load the generated html, but appends it to end of the table instead of doing it after #id2 as I would expect. Any pointers about this? I'm trying to build an "expansible" table (drill-down style, like a tree), but rendering each row children on demand. Maybe there already exists a component for this purpose. [ANN] HelloPharo - webapp deployment tool

Hello, At Ta Mère, we are used to deploy Ruby/Rails application with Heroku or on VPS with Capistrano. Almost everybody uses the same tools and techniques in the Rails community so deployment is quite easy once you grasp the process. The same process was quite frustrating with Pharo. To solve that, we've built HelloPharo. It is a tool to deploy small apps to a Linux VPS/VM. It is heavily inspired by Capistrano, it prones convention over configuration and it wants to be full stack (e.g., serve the assets, restart the processes). It is built with Ansible. We haven't released a fixed version yet but the tool starts to be in a good-enough shape to be shown. We want to grab some feedback and fix the most obvious limitations (see the README for more) before releasing version 0.1.0. If you or your company uses a well defined process to deploy pharo webapps, we are all ears. We think that having a canonical way to deploy simple apps is a must if we want to see wider Pharo adoption for small web companies. This process *must* be Unix friendly if we want to attract Python or Ruby people. Most of them are Devops anyway, the command line is their friend, NOT something they want to avoid.
