Session management

Hello All, i work with VW7.4.1 and seaside support. I have create a "unregistered" method to manage the web Session close operation. About session Lukas write: <Old sessions are only pruned when they have timed-out and new ones are <created. So this doesn't happen too often. At the "unregistered" method i'have add : Transcript show: 'Web session ........ closing '. And it write right line in the transcript when "unregistered" method is call for old session. But the MyWASsession instance is not 'close'. Question A) Because the MyWASession instances increasing? What do i do to "erase" they? Because with 80 old session the system go in loop ? Question B) I can manage the old session with more precision? I'm interested to close the database connection in real time, when the session " go in time-out " . Not do it later. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated! Thank, Dario Trussardi Romano

Scriptaculous bug with inPlaceEditor ?

Hi, I think I found a bug in scriptaculous with the use of the InPlaceEditor. I use it inside a div. By changing the value the whole div is updated. But when the div containing the inPlaceEditor is updated, the InPlaceEditor doesn't work anymore. You can found attached an very simple example of it (I commented the callback because it doesn't change anything to uncomment it). The only solution I found is to move the InPlaceEditor out of the div. But when it is in the middle of a complex renderer, it is not very easy. Is this a normal behavior or a bug ? Integration of scripaculous form element

Hello All, i work with VW7.4.1 and seaside support. About my problem I'm interested to port one scripaculous form element ( for example one Check-Box ) in an form with standard submitButton. Lukas answer: .... <In other words, submitting a single check-box or a single multi-select <list does not work, since for those elements Seaside generates some <additional hidden form elements that do not get submitted. Of course <it can be made working, but then you somehow need to submit those <hidden fields as well. Believe me, it is the easiest if you just put a <form> around check-boxes and multi-select lists ;-) Now my question is : if i use form for check-boxes and multi-select lists what do i do for other element in the page? For textInput how i manage the callback ? In the SUFormTest class, for textInput the callback is trigger by submitButton inside the relative form. But it is not a elegant solution. I have test the liveCallback solution and it work fine, but it's one right solution? I can manage the delta time relative to trigger one specific liveCallback? Displaying a session expiration page

Hi, I have a server application that manages sessions. But when the session expires, a new session is started without notifying the user, which results in the website displaying the default page. The behaviour is easy to reproduce: open /seaside/config, edit an application without pressing "Done", then wait for 10 minutes => you're back at the table of entrypoints. Instead, I'de like to display an expiration page, then go to the new page. I've looked at WAApplication>>#handleExipredRequest: , and I thought of subclassing WAApplication to override this message. But I don't see how I could first display the warning page, then display the default page (I can't call components from #handleExpiredRequest:). Any idea or better suggestions ? Thank you. Vincent

How to externalize scriptaculous javascript ?

Hello, I'de like to externalize the Javascript of scriptaculous into external .js files, in order to improve response time. I copied all contents of SULibrary to several .js files. In #updateRoot: of my component, I added the following code (#javascriptPaths returns a collection of paths) : CBOConfiguration javascriptPaths do: [:each | anHtmlRoot scriptElementWithSrc: each] When I look at the generated source, I have correct <script> entries, which give the same javasript code as when using the SULibrary. However, I don't have the expected functionality. For example, the updater is broken, my code on the server side is never called. If I switch back to using "addLibrary: SULibrary" in #registerAsApplication, it works again. Does someone have a clue ? Thanks Vincent

Slow slow seaside

Hi, I am running seaside on a virtual server hosted at unixshell : debian latest-linux-2.6 the 128Mo of RAM. And the we app is very very slow and even timeout sometimes. When I run it locally, it works fine and quick. I'd like to run some tests to know where it comes from, the image, the server installation, the memory use... And I would like to know if such generic tests already exists somewhere. Thanks Florian

Hi, thanks for your help. But I have another question now. If I use WAResponse, can I avoid creation of big WAResponse object? What I mean is that I want to send big data (more than 600MB), if user clicks on a link. It seams that I have to pre-create a big WAResponse instance(actual size is determined by size of a stream).
