Download url for Developer Image looks dodgy

When clicking on the link to download the Developer image, it goes to some website on free.fr. This doesn't instill any confidence in me, as the artifact could be a trojan for some nasties. Why can't the image be hosted on seaside.st ? Just my $0.02 regards, Gavin Bong

FileLibrary refreshment IE

Hello, I currently have a problem with my seaside application and IE 6 only (what a surprise ?). In fact my application use a WAFileLibrary which contained lots of files including some png, css, and js. The first problem is when I display for the first time my page I have to refresh it because all the component do not have its css applied. After that, as I use some scriptaculous scripts, I refresh only some html elements in my page, and when I do that, the support for the png transparency is not available for the picture in this element. So i refresh the page and only after that it is ok. This problem is only on IE6. IE7 and firefox just do it fine. All my css are stored into my WAFileLibrary, nothing in a style method of my components. Should I do it this way, copy the css in my component ?. Thanks for help, any ideas are welcome ! Sylvain

I have a problem though. I have added the method charSet ^ 'iso-8859-1' to StSession in order to correctly display characters in spanish (á, é, etc). I had 4 task in my todo list but the accented characters showed as a weird symbol with a question mark in it (�). So I added the said method. The text displayed correctly after that. Then I added the 5 task and instead of my todo list all I got was a page full of weird question marks characters: <��!��D��O��C��T��Y��P��E�� h��t��m��l�� P��U��B��L��I��C�� "��-��/��/��W��3��C��/��/��D��T��D�� X��H��T��M��L�� 1��.��0�� S��t��r��i��c��t��/��/��E��N��"��... Thinking this had something to do with the charSet method, I removed it. Nothing. The same page full of weird characters. Questions: Has someone had a problem like this? Is there a solution? How can I input accented characters in a form and have Seaside manage them correctly? Seaside generate a default charset of utf8, but my seaside session outputs á as � unless I manually change the encoding to iso-8859-1 in the View -> char encoding menu of firefox. Is this the intended behavior? My debian environment is all in utf8 encoding. Again, good job. Michael, Thanks for putting together your very needed tutorial. It will certainly help increase adoption of Seaside. Since you're extending the tutorial, I'd be glad to send you a copy of GemStone to add to the persistence section along with Glorp and Goods. I don't expect you'd need much if anything in terms of code changes. Let me know how we can help. Remove /seaside/go/ from URL

Hi, I am deploying a seaside application behind an Apache server and all goes fine except for one thing. With proxy and virtualHost I manage inside Apache to hide seaside behind Apache but I still have the /seaside/go/myApp?_... in my URL. Is there a way to remove it ? I don't think I have to set up that in Apache, so how can I do that in Seaside or VisualWave. In fact instead of : http://myservername:9000/seaside/go/MyApp?_... I want : http://myservername/MyApp?_... for now I get : http://myservername/seaside/go/MyApp?_... Thanks for help. I am running the last version of Seaside on VisualWorks. Sylvain

KeyBinder questions

I am trying to make KeyBinder to display the key combination on its menu but am hitting a "Decompiler" error (RemoteString past end of file). I get the same error when I even try to do "Edit Key Binding" for most of the bindings. Any ideas? btw - how do I get an ascii out of the stack trace to post? Thanks. Seaside deployment help

Hi all, It is the first time I want to deploy a seaside app and I encouter problems that have already been discussed and blogged but I can't find the needed informations. The situation: 1) On web server (e.g www.monsite.fr) on which I have an account named luc and no specials rights (root password...) 2) my web site is accessible through http://www.monsite.fr/~luc/ 3) adding rewriting rules in a .htaccess allows me to redirect request to a backend server on which I have root access : http://www.mysite.fr/~luc/seaside/* -> http://myserver:9090/... I would : configure the seaside image so that all urls will have the following form : /~luc/seaside/* (I guess it is the most simple way to achieve my will) but I don't want to use the two atributes "Server Hostname" and "Server Path" because I would prefer a simpler solution like modify the default WADispatcher in order to configure all applications at once. Is there a better solution ? Questions: - What is "Resourse base Url" configuration? When I changed it for counter app for example, static files url are not changer and links are not good e.g /seaside/files/WAStandardFiles/toolbar.css #Luc

Sorry, stupid error on my part. I couldn't get this to work some while back, but now it works. It was probably related to my earlier problems with Apache file serving. Again, sorry for the confusion.
