Problem with announcements in Seaside when using Pharo 1.3

Hi all, In have a simple case: in an ajax callback I trigger an announcement and in the callback associated with the announcement I try to render a Date object. When I do this I get a WARequestContextNotFound exception. To be more exact I have in a component this function to render the callback link: renderAnnouncementUpdate: html html anchor onClick: (html jQuery ajax script: [ :s | script := s. model announce: SGLLinkClickedAnnouncement new ]); with: 'Update Announcements' The model is initialized when I create the component in: initialize super initialize. model := SGLVerySimplePresentation new. model on: SGLLinkClickedAnnouncement do: [:ann| self onClick: ann]. When the announcement is called it will trigger the onclick: method which will do the rendering: onClick: ann self addScripts: script addScripts: s s << (s jQuery: #date1) html: [ :r | r render: Date today ]. s << (s jQuery: #time1) html: [ :r | r render: Time now ] However the html: method trigers an WARequestContextNotFound exception. I'v tried this on Pharo 1.3 (running on CogVM) with the latest version of Seaside. The application can be found in the Moose Playground project from http://www.squeaksource.com in the package SGL-Seaside-Problem. Atfer you install the package and start a web server you have to execute "SGLTestComponentMin registerAsApplication: 'SGLTestComponentMin'." to register the application. Am I missing something? problem in configuration of swazoo

Hi Janko, The latest version of the ConfigurationOfSwazoo has a problem. Specifically, version '2.3.0.0' was recently changed to point to the Swazoo package version 'Swazoo-2.3beta2.6'. Noob wants to render dynamic png file

Hi Guys, Very new to Seaside (<24h) but it looks fantastic. I'd like to serve a page with a dynamically created .png file - a callback fires some code to generate a .png, but I have no idea how to serve it back. All the image serving I have been able to do is image files that are either on a web server or already in a FileLibrary. Can any kind soul please help me? Using nginx file upload module

Hi Johan, hi Nick, Stephan and I made an implementation based on Nick's work on the upload component. It works currently under 2.8, and there are still some small issues, but basically it works as follows: - There is a component, you simply put on the place you want the upload. - It calls uses nginx for the upload. - For the callback there is component, that is registered under "upload" and has implemented the initialRequest that ensures the callback is called. The work that still needs to be done: - The callback is registered on the class side of the component. It is released when the component is called again and the session is expired. This does not work yet on 3.0. - Nick made an progress indicator, this does not work yet and the code is still included and some points - Nick made all java script in jquery, we made it plain javascript, since we have not upgraded our library yet. But this should be in jquery again. I will do some work on it monday, and will try to upgrade it to 3.0. Than I will include it on the mailinglist. I already mailed the current state to Johan, but it was made during our stay at SPA (London), and I did not had tested the package I made. Also the configuration was mailed seperatedly. So Johan, I like to hear wether it worked on your side. You can Skype Stephan tomorrow and me on Monday if you want some assistance. grtz. Diego

RESTFUL form processing

I'm trying to understand how to do form submissions to a restful web service in seaside. I've loaded up the restful support from seaside30addons added these packages to the standard downloaded seaside image: Seaside-Pharo-REST-Core-pmm.4.mcz Seaside-REST-Core-pmm.23.mcz Seaside-Tests-REST-Core-dkh.13.mcz I rand the test cases and they all run fine. Transcript show: 'Got it'; cr. When inspected, postFields has exactly one element which is: a WARequestFields('sex'->'Male') Inspect the body and I get: 'sex=Male' what happened to my form elements??? Tony

Class Variable Browser Fix

Hi All, There seems to be a buglet in the browser concerning class variables. When you select and right click on a class variable in the browser it brings up a walk-back. I'm not sure what the procedure is for applying fixes to the code base and have included the fix below: OBCmdBrowseReferencesOfIt>>globalReference | binding | target hasSelector ifFalse: [ ^ nil ]. 0x0 character in html response string

Hi, In some circumstances, I'm getting a '0x0' character at the end of the class attribute in my webpage. This character is interfering with class matching for rendering and jQuery selection. In xhtml mode, it even crashes the page parsing. Here is an example of class attribute with the 0x0 char: class="decoration status-confirmedoption decoration-VerhuurA groupstart group-1283859969 group-1558129409� ui-selectee ui-droppable ui-draggable ui-selected" The classes after the 0x0 character were added by jQuery after page load. Although I can repeat the problem deterministically, I do not find the discriminating behavior with respect to class attributes of other elements. The most common factor I found is that the character gets inserted when the string is 99 characters long.... add or remove a character and the 0x0 goes away. The really strange part is that: - I do not see the character when inspecting the response string that is served on the server - I do not see the character when using an HTTP client (Zinc) to get the raw response - I do not see the character in the page source when choosing 'page source' from the developers menu in Chrome But maybe the above is just because character encoding is covering up for it... The problem occurs both on Firefox and Chrome, even with javascript turned off (to ensure that it's the bare page rendering). Does this ring a bell with anyone? Johan
