Greetings, Thank you David and the others that gave me suggestions here. Using a combination of Repaintable, and the other advice enabled me to get this working. (I also was missing some of the libraries I needed. Thanks Nick.) Sorry that it took so long to get back to this, but working on this internal app is secondary to my primary Support duties at Cincom. :-) Again, thanks for the help folks. James T. When using checkboxes you probably want onClick rather than onChange because IE does not register the change until the checkbox loses focus. I haven't tried a multiselect. How to load the "real" core with Metacello in Pharo?

I think it has been discussed a while ago but I couldn't find it. So....just a quick question, how can I use Metacello to load a real core of Seaside? loading ConfigurationOfSeaside30 'core' takes like half an hour and install things like OB which I don't need at all (I don't need the UI for seaside adaptors if that is where it is needed). Custom WAErrorHandler

I'm playing with WAErrorHandler lately and wonder how can I generate a clean response from it. For example: GTRootComponent>>renderContentOn: html self renderLoginTabOn: html. self renderSocialLinksOn: html. self renderMainContentOn: html. Dictionary new at: #blop. self renderFooterOn: html. My custom handler looks like this: handleDefault: anException | content answer | self sendFailFor: anException. anException isResumable ifTrue: [ anException resume ]. content := WAHtmlCanvas builder fullDocument: true; rootBlock: [ :root | root title: 'Unable to proceed' ]; render: [ :html | html heading level: 1; with: 'Error !' ]. self requestContext respond: [ :response | response internalError; nextPutAll: content ] The handler handles the KeyNotFound fine but the response is already filled with the rendering of renderLoginTabOn:, renderSocialLinksOn: and renderMainContentOn:. Is there a way to draw on a clean response ? I guess it's pretty obvious, I've looked at the requestContext and responseGenerator but cannot find how to do it :/ Cheers, Francois

Aida ToDo example ready

Dear Smalltalkers, As part of comparison of web frameworks [1] Hannes Hirzel proposed to make a concrete example of web app in all three frameworks [2]. He proposed a ToDo example and here it is, an Aida version of it! [ANN] Dynatree as part of jquery widget box

I've wrapped the dynatree as a jquery widget for seaside as part of the jquerywidgetbox project. This widget represents a tree, see: http://wwwendt.de/tech/dynatree/doc/samples.html Load latest version of ConfigurationOfJQueryWidgetBox and then JQWidgetBox-Dynatree-Dev-tbn.3 JQWidgetBox-Dynatree-Core-tbn.3 evaluate JQWidgetExample initialize and point your browser to http://localhost:8080/jquery-widgets/dynatree for a simple demo. The next meeting of the Toronto Smalltalk User Group is Monday, September 12. Stephen Smith will present a progress report a Pharo / Seaside project at Bombardier. Doru, The 'Base' group defines the minimal set of packages for Seaside (it does not include OB)... The only thing that you need in addition to 'Base' is to decide which of the Adaptors you want to use and you can have a perfectly functioning Seaside. If you are suggesting that the 'default' to not include the OB tools, that's fine with me, but in past discussions the decision was reached to include OB tools in the 'default' group. The rationale has always been (i believe) that the naive users need to have the Seaside control panel (which is based on OB) in order to easily start and stop Seaside ... The sophisticated and knowledgeable users can start with the 'Base' group and add exactly the packages that they are interested in ... Perhaps we need to have one more group that loads everything but the OB tools and leave the default group alone? If you are sophisticated enough to know you don't want OB, then you can load that group...
