Would you like to share your room at Squeakfest?

We'll have a presentation by Mariana Herrera, a teacher from Uruguay this year at Squeakfest in Wilmington! Squeakland Foundation has no money this year to help attendees by giving out travel stipends. Mariana got herself a visa and funding for travel. Now she is looking for accomodation. If you are attending Squeakfest in Wilmington from July, 26 -28, maybe you would like to share a room with her? You can answer me privately, but if you answer on the list, maybe there are more attendees interested in room sharing? Greetings, Rita

XO classes in Uruguay now in YouTube

Anyone may now go to www.youtube.com search with keywords "aprendiendo con ceibal" and find many videos of actual classes in the studios of Canal Ceibal, a TV channel dedicated exclusively to these classes. For each class the teacher and pupils come from a different school in Uruguay. Special thanks to Rosamel Ramírez, the teacher who assured us the videos were going to be shown via internet and prompted us to look for them. We didn´t find them. We asked Paolo Benini a volunteer in Uruguay. Paolo couldn´t find them either and followed up with Canal Ceibal. The videos were not there but, today quite a few of them may be watched. weekly wow snafu

Hi everyone, The current Weekly Wow from the Squeakland Showcase isn't an Etoys project, which shouldn't happen. Currently, the Weekly Wow is chosen from the "article" with the highest points for two weeks past. Points come from project ranking only. Admin users have special access to change any article in the system, including the points for an article/project. Someone got confused and gave the squeakfest articles showcase points when they were logged in as admin, which is how "What is Etoys" became the Weekly Wow. I've added an issue to the tracker to handle this situation in the future: http://tracker.squeakland.org/browse/SQ-728 I tried to re-run the Weekly Wow to give us another project, but there weren't any to pick from, hence this issue: http://tracker.squeakland.org/browse/SQ-729 Sorry about the mix-up. I also fixed the error that was being caused by a non-project project being shown. (The servlet exception). Server Migration today

Hi everyone, Immuexa, the company that hosts the Squeakland website and mailing lists, just switched to newer, faster dedicated servers with more disk space and memory. I've spent the last two weeks prepping for the move. Today we moved the mail servers, which went pretty well except for the mailing lists. If you're reading this, then we're back in business. Apologies for the down time today . . . our upstream provider made quite a few config changes that we didn't anticipate. Is there a way to zoom and shift similar to the Wheels in DrGeo?

Is there a way within Etoys to zoom in/out (similar to the zoom wheel in DrGeo? Also would like to be able to perform vertical and horizontal shifts. This would be useful for mind maps and large drawings or game fields that do not fit within the existing screen size. Stephen
