I have been teaching the car curriculum from the book and it ends with a "great race". In the book it suggests you have kids make cars and scripts separately, then import them into one project to race each other. I find no information about how to import this way.
I'd appreciate some specifics! Thanks. Jenni Voorhees
Hi, Jenni -
The trick here is that the computers must be on a network so that students can load their projects to a common computer. (Or use a USB stick to copy projects from one to another.)
Once the kids have made their cars/projects and saved them, different students can then load their project onto a shared machine. Once they have their project on the screen, they can drag and drop their scripted car into the shared "Supplies" flap. Once you have all the objects you desire in that flap, you can create a "new" (clean) project by selecting "New" on the navigator bar. Once the new project (thumbnail) appears on the screen, enter it, by clicking somewhere in the center of the project thumbnail.
Now you can open the "supplies' flap and bring out any combination of cars (objects) the kids have put there. When you open an object's viewer you will see any/all scripts created for it in the "scripts category" as you would when the project resided on any other computer. I hope this helps! Happy racing, Kim
