Hallo! It is possible to do lipsync with Squeak? I think that is needed if you want to use Squek to build a democratic world. Squeak is a good beginning for schoolchildren to learn programming. But what is the continuation? The programming must be used in a democratic context or it doesn´t bother you?
To me it is the real thing - democracy. Soon we all have 3G mobiles filled with stuff from the media giants. And on a phone there is SOUND. And if you want to do animations with sound to tell a story. You must have lipsync. So can you lipsync a squeak with Squeak?
To learn to lipsync in 3D on the web. I have made a tutorial for you and the kids. I think if you are over twelve years old you will manage it with a little help. Here you find the tutorial and the material you need to begin to experiment with lipsync:

Then you and the kids - we all can be our own Disneys - or something much better - e.g. discussing what to do with our common gencode. It is 7 million years old and is used the year 2004 of 6000 million people. Now some of us are experimenting with our common heritage. I think this needs a little discussion. Perhaps a little lipsynced squeak can help? :=) Gunnar

Nothing is impossible ;-)
In a full 3.6 Squeak, you can execute the following:
Speaker manWithHead say: 'This is my voice. Can you see my lips?'
This will synthesize speech and play a lip-synced animation along.
Since there is no etoy interface to the speech synthesis frame work, it has not been included in the squeakland plugin.
