Continued planning for SqueakFest '05

Hello to all in Squeakland - We are continuing to plan for SqueakFest '05 in Chicago (August 10 -13) and at this point we are looking to you for input. Pausing animation? (resend)

I can't find a way to insert a pause in an animation. My students want to slow down their animations. I taught Microworlds last year, and in that language, you inserted a pause of x seconds in the script to slow down the motion. Is there a way to do this in Squeak? I am trying to share a project between two computers. When I hit the Share button on the Badge I keep on getting the error: not strike2 format. Smartboards and Squeak

Bob, I use my SmartBoard with Squeak all the time and it is quite compatible. It makes a great set up for collaborative work between kids. They love to draw a range of objects and then work on animating them together. We love the SmartBoard for this! Kim, I can see the confusing nature of my statement now. I have never been able to call up the halo using the SmartBoard alone. I had to enable the halo from the laptop, and then use handles at the SmartBoard. Bob, another thing that works really well with the SmartBoard is creating and running scripts. Hi All I am trying to build a game using squeak for a college project. I am finding squeak very difficult I cannot seem to make a start. The game will be targeted towards young children and it is supposed to help them learn Irish. So as one part of the game I have decided to do a simple crosword where the clue is an english word and the answer is the irish meaning(word) for that word. I have started by creating a subclass of CrosticPanel. i am now pretty much stuck. Any help would be great and very appreciated! Thanks a mill Aimee

Bob, I had a great time using a SmartBoard with Squeak for an after-school club. I was never able to use the halo, but simply being able to drag objects around with visually very compelling to the students' understanding of objects. If you figure out a workaround, please me know, because I hope to have a SmartBoard in my classroom next year.
