Hi all, almost missed the chat yesterday. And when I logged in I got distracted by #olpc-devel talk. A minute later David came back, but I didn't see that. Sorry. But: If I'm not there, that's no reason not to chat :) Anybody can lead the discussion if it gets too disorganized, but usually we're pretty civilized, so it should rarely be necessary. So here is a rule: Do not wait more than 15 minutes. Just start. I'll see it in the logs later so I can still post a summary (though it would be awesome if someone beat me to it). Pi Project - Translation of Tab

Randy, This is a translation to Spanish of the English tab in your Pi project: ============ Guía Observa como los perímetros de los polígonos inscritos y circunscritos al círculo, se aproximan a pi al aumentar el número de lados. Los valores de los perímetros son tales que el diámetro del círculo resulta igual a 1. El valor de los perímetros se acerca así a pi. Para agregar un lado al polígono, haz clic en un triángulo verde. Luego arrastra los vértices para inscribir y circunscribir los nuevos polígonos. Finalmente, haz clic en el botón "CheckPi" para ver los nuevos resultados. =========== If you could add a second tab in Spanish, it would be appreciated by many Etoys enthusiasts. If the accents give you any trouble, you may replace the same letters without accents for the accented ones. It will not look perfect but it will be readable without any problems. Thanks. When you read my comments to your project, my English might sound a bit more weird than usual. The reason is I wrote the comments in Spanish, if you select English in the Squeakland website, you will be looking at the automatic translation. Carlos

Adding links to web pages from Etoys projects

Someone asked for instructions to add a link to a web page from an Etoys book. Miriam Leal, a teacher from Uruguay using a XO computer sends us these instructions: ================= Using the XO´s navigator locate a page in the web that includes a link to the page you want to open from within your Etoys project. Select a portion of text including the link. Copy it using Ctrl + C or drag the selection to the frame. Open the Etoys project you are working with where you want to add the link. Paste the text including the link, on the world of your Etoys project or, drag the selection you had left on the frame and drop it in the project's world. Roll the cursor over the link. A window opens with the question "Do you want to open a navigator to see this URL?" (¿Abrir un navigator para ver esta URL? Sí No) Answer yes and the navigator will open and show the page indicated by the link. ================= Could someone confirm success after reading and following these instructions before we circulate them?
