Publish to specific directory of other drive (Windows)

Hi all. I'm getting ready for six weeks of teaching Squeak to grades 5-9 kids in a summer program. This year I think we'll use the full Squeak 3.8 6665. I'm having trouble saving a project into a specific directory on drives other than C:. On the C drive I can navigate through the file system, but for the other drives I just see the drive letter and can't expand to navigate through. The kids all have folders on a mapped network drive. I want them to be able to save their projects there. Thanks in advance.

Dear Squeaklanders, Greetings! We're about to "go live" with online registration for SqueakFest '05. I'll send another announcement when the online registration is launched (via the Squeakland.org homepage) in the next day or so. In the meantime, we do have the information on conference registration fees; I know many of you have been waiting for this info, so here it is: August 10th - Hands On Workshops will be offered for people with no experience to much experience (with the Squeak Etoy interface) Day only fee $50.00 - includes continental breakfast and lunch. August 11 - 13 General Conference sessions including plenary keynote by Alan Kay, August 11th $100.00 Workshop Day & Full Conference: $130.00 (includes continental breakfast each morning and lunch Wed, Thurs, and Friday). We will attempt to do everything possible (raise enough funds, have enough participants) so that presenters and panelists will have their registration fees waived. I've attached a flyer to this email containing the particulars. *Please* email the flyer to friends, colleagues and associates who you think may be interested. Please feel free to print and distribute at other conferences, workshops, your school, etc., etc. Another announcement will follow as soon as we've launched the online registration information. bug in PasteUpMorph::cursorWrapped: ?

squeakers, I think the implementation for PasteUpMorph::cursorWrapped: is flawed. I used a Holder to hold 4 Sketches to use in an animation cycle. I made a 'tick count' variable and each tick of a scrip set the Holder cursor to tick count. Once tick is greater than 4 things go wrong, the first sketch gets shown twice and the last never. The code for PasteUpMorph::cursorWrapped looks like it would work if the 'indexing' of elements was zero based - but it seems to be '1' based - at least for a 'Holder'. the relevant part of the method is: t2 > submorphs size ifTrue: [submorphs size > 0 ifTrue: [cursor _ cursor \\ submorphs size] ifFalse: [cursor _ 1]]. I think it probbaly means 'cursor _ cursor \\ submorphs size + 1' but there could be other users of PasteUpMorph that are zero based. Is this a bug? seems that it would be easier to make animation cycles work like kids would expect them to with a change like this. Can someone give me a reference to the bug reporting / fixing proceedure for squeakland codebase? regards, nicholas

advice on serving etoys projects with sound

Hi, I have a bunch of etoys projects I would like to post on the internet for kids and their parents to see (kindergartners and 4th graders). These projects pull mp3 files into the mpeg player morph and are triggered by buttons. I looked into the comanche swiki, but I need some confirmation that these projects would be able to find the mp3 files from the server and play them. I'm not sure this is even possible, if someone could confirm that it is, I will go ahead with trying to make it happen. If someone has any other ideas as to how I can serve these projects, I would love to know about it. I'm finding little reference to etoys project swikis around the internet. Randy, I've put a script in a GeeMail box and it seems to scroll tile-script satisfactorily in eToys while running. There is one artifact when dragging & dropping tiles onto a GeeMail embedded tile-script. The artifact is that copy of the image of the tile is put on the left side of the desktop. It's nice to have the development environment the same as the graphical environment. Tweak 1.0 has as Scrollpane Widget but I've not been able to put a tile-script into it yet. clear object-specific pen trails

Maybe I'm missing the obvious once again, but I would like to be able to clear only those pen trails associated with a particular object, as opposed to "clear all pen trails". How might I do this, oh great Squeakers? --Randy
